Francis Fiedler, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 10.

Visitation will continue Friday, Sept. 11, from 9-10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church where the funeral will begin at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, New Horizons or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Vernie Harris

Mrs. Vernie Harris, 94, nee Janet Werner of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 11, at Memorial Presbyterian Church where the funeral will begin at 11 a.m.

Private graveside services and interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Pioneer Memorial Library, Hill Country Community Needs Council or to the charity of choice.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Francis Walch, 93, nee Pauline Mary (Polly) Knopp of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or to the charity of choice.

Marvin R. Grosenbacher

MARVIN R. GROSENBACHER

Marvin R. Grosenbacher, 79, of Center Point and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Care Choice Nursing Home of Boerne.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, at Schaetter Funeral Home of Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Casey Zesch officiating.

Cremation is planned following the service with interment of the cremains to be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 4, from 5-7 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 5, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Grosenbacher was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Fredericksburg, the son of Ernst Grosenbacher Sr. and Ella Kast Grosenbacher. He married Carolyn Haun on Jan. 27, 1963, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and she survives.

Grosenbacher was raised in the Crabapple community and graduated from Fredericksburg High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy for four years.

Mrs. Paul Rochs

Mrs. Paul Rochs, 100, nee Lucille Henderson of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 4-6 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 3, from 7-8:45 a.m.

The body will lie in state at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.

Graveside services and interment will follow on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 2:30 p.m., in the San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Road, San Antonio.

Memorials may be made to the Golden Hub Foundation, Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation, Hill Country University Center or to the charity of choice.

Rev. George Watts

REV. GEORGE WATTS

Rev. George Watts, 66, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at First Baptist Church with the Reverends Ken Moore and Wes Dean officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Watts was born Nov. 1, 1948, in McKinney, the son of Clarence Watts and Naomi Ready Watts, and was raised in Beaumont. He married Sheila Kelley on Nov. 23, 1985, and she survives.

Watts was the current pastor at Faith Baptist Church at State Highway 16 North.

In addition to his wife, Watts is survived by one son, Daniel Watts of San Marcos, and a brother and sister-in-law, Oliver and Linda Watts of Houston.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Baptist Mission Fund.

Edgar Wendel

EDGAR WENDEL

Edgar Wendel, 98, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Doss, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Calvary Pentecostal Church with Clyde Dechert officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

Wendel was born May 24, 1917, in Mason County, the son of William Henry Wendel and Anna Sattler Wendel. He married Mildred Gerloff on Oct. 17, 1938, in Fredericksburg. She preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 1984.

Wendel is survived by four children and spouses, including Gerald and Thelma Wendel, Sharon and Don Steadman and Jim Wendel, all of Fredericksburg, and Tim and Clair Wendel of Shelburn, Indiana.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
