Audrey Jane Pilkington Muller


AUDREY JANE MULLER

Audrey Jane Pilkington Muller, 80, of Houston and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Carnes Funeral Home of Houston.

Mrs. Muller was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Lakewood, N.J., the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth Pilkington. She married Belton Muller who preceded her in death.

She worked at H-E-B grocery in Fredericksburg and retired after 20 years of employment.

She also served in the U.S. Air Force for two years.

Mrs. Muller is survived by four children: Debi Scullen and her husband, Lawrence, of Fredericksburg; Sheri Parker of Houston; James Pool of San Antonio, and Steve Pool and his wife, Erin, of Nolensville, Tenn.

Survivors also include 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Cruz Rangel Ramirez


CRUZ RANGEL RAMIREZ

Cruz Rangel Ramirez, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation and a prayer service were held Thursday evening, Feb. 20.

Mrs. Ramirez was born June 27, 1928, in Mexico, the daughter of Esteban Rangel and Epifania Solis Rangel. She was married to Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2014.

Elizabeth (Betty) Scheck, nee Fry, 74, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at the VFW Hall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason Funeral Home of Mason.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Schelnick

Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Schelnick, 73, nee Judy Burrier of Willow City, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Heart Hospital of Austin.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with interment following in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or to the charity of choice.

Frances Reed Springall, of Montgomery, Ala., and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.

Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, March 5, at 2 p.m., at Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Le Moine E. (Woody) Wood


LE MOINE WOOD

Le Moine E. (Woody) Wood, 77, of Stonewall, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Deacon Ed Ferguson officiating.

Interment followed in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday evening, Feb. 20, and Friday morning, Feb. 21.

Wood was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Bulverde, the son of William Dever Wood and Lilly Moore Wood. He married Julia Leidl on Oct. 26, 1956, in Boerne. She preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2000.

He is survived by two daughters, two sons and spouses, including Kevin and Joan Wood of Fredericksburg; Lee and Tara Wood of Granbury; Valerie Knapp of Fredericksburg, and Kimberley and Clay Clifton of Jourdanton.

Mrs. William Baumert, 85, nee Annie Olga Schmidt­zinsky of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A funeral mass was celebrated today, Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Calvin Willford Hohmann


CALVIN WILLFORD HOHMANN

Calvin Willford Hohmann, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Danielle Knapp officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist, and Jackie Kunz, the vocalist.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday evening and Friday morning at the funeral home.

Hohmann was born July 20, 1924, in Gillespie County, the son of Albert H. Hohmann and Adela Evers Hohmann.

His first wife, the former Carrie Lansford, died in 1989. He then married Margaret Klein on Nov. 13, 1993, in San Antonio, and she survives.

Hohmann was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from July 12, 1943, to Feb. 8, 1946. He was discharged as a staff sergeant.

Judy Koennecke

Judy Koennecke, 59, of Comfort, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.

No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ms. Koennecke was born Feb. 26, 1954, in Kerrville, the daughter of Perry Koennecke and Helen Spenrath Koennecke.

She is survived by four sons, including Steven Flora, Jonathan Flora, Ruben Leonard and Justin Leonard; two sisters, Jane Danz of Kerrville and Joy Faigen of Newport Beach, Calif., and her mother, Helen Spenrath Koennecke.

Ms. Koennecke was preceded in death by her father.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Comfort, Sid Peterson Hospice or the charity of choice.

Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Sr.


CLAUDIO ALONZO RAMIREZ SR.

Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Sr., 83, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Monday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

The body was cremated with interment of the cremains planned at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service, led by Deacon Francisco de la Torre, were held Sunday evening, Feb. 16.

Ramirez was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Pleasanton, the son of Nicanor Ramirez and Estevana Reyes Ramirez. His wife, the former Cruz Rangel, survives.
