Mrs. Walter Albrecht

Mrs. Walter Albrecht, 103, nee Lydia Holekamp of Comfort, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Trinity Mission and Rehab Center in Comfort.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home in Comfort, with interment following in the Comfort Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Jo Ann Barwise

JO ANN BARWISE

Jo Ann Barwise, 79, nee Brandenberger, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, in the Family Chapel at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Wade Powell officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barwise was born Jan. 18, 1936, in Mason, the daughter of Sam Brandenberger and Willie Mae Doell Brandenberger. She married Walter Barwise. They had been married for 56 years.

When her sons were young, she was involved with their livestock shows, and belonged to the Billie Boosters when they played football.

She sang in the church choir, belonged to the women’s circle and was a member of the fellowship committee.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barwise is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Britt and Christy Barwise of Port Aransas; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Ronny Zesch of Mason, and two grandchildren.

Carroll Ann Bell

CARROLL ANN BELL

Carroll Ann Bell, 78, nee Robinson, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2015.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where a memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, with the Rev. Casey Zesch officiating.

Mrs. Bell was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Beaumont, the daughter of Edwin and Hazel Robinson. She married Joe R. Bell on Aug. 29, 1973, in Beaumont, and he survives.

A 1955 Beaumont High School graduate, Mrs. Bell attended Lamar University, graduating with a bachelor of science degree and education certification.

She spent 22 years as a teacher in public education in Texas.

She retired from teaching in 1998 so that she and her husband could operate their bed and breakfast business.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bell is survived by one son, Murray Lord of Fredericksburg; two step-children and spouses, Rob and Ruth Ann Bell of Katy and Paula and Gary McCauley of Port O’Connor.

Randall Conway (Randy) Burkey

RANDALL CONWAY (RANDY) BURKEY

Randall Conway (Randy) Burkey, 91, of Doss and formerly of San Antonio, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Doss, with the Reverends Mark A. Ward and Jim Holt officiating. Shirley Keyser was the organist and Janice Friedrich, vocalist.

Graveside services with military honors and interment followed at the church cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Monday evening, Oct. 12.

Burkey was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of George Randall Burkey and Mary Ellen Purdum Burkey. He married Jacqueline (Jackie) Rebholz on Jan. 12, 1947. She preceded him in death in 1979.

He married Audelle Woerner on April 10, 1982, in Comfort, and she survives.

For 42 years, Burkey owned and operated his own business, Randall Burkey Company in Boerne.

Linda Crenwelge

LINDA CRENWELGE

Linda Crenwelge, 54, nee Headley, of Junction, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Mrs. Crenwelge was born June 5, 1961, in Princeton, New Jersey, the daughter of Donald Headley and Mary Ann Waldbusser Headley. She married Darren Scott Crenwelge on Feb. 26, 2004, in Fredericksburg and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Crenwelge is survived by her parents, Donald and Mary Ann Headley, and two sisters, Cindy Brightwell and Elizabeth Swadley and her husband, Rick, all of McKinney.

Mrs. Willie L. Ellebracht

MRS. WILLIE L. ELLEBRACHT

Mrs. Willie L. Ellebracht, 86, nee Helen Marie Lochte, of San Antonio, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in San Antonio.

Mrs. Ellebracht was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Max Lochte and Margarethe Hilker Lochte. She married Willie L. Ellebracht on June 18, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2013.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and David Sulak and Betty and Ken Smith, all of San Antonio, and two grandchildren.

Survivors also include one sister, Evelyn Pospick of Dallas, and a brother and sister-in-law, F.C. and Dorothy Lochte of Fredericksburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ellebracht was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Stried.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home of San Antonio.

James Harry Ellis, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015.

A rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by a memorial Mass at 11 a.m.

Graveside services and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Dennis Lee Grobe

DENNIS LEE GROBE

Dennis Lee Grobe, 70, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015.

A memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Donna Jackson, the vocalist.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains followed Thursday afternoon at the Beck Kuebel Cemetery in Blanco County.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening.

That same evening, Deacon Patrick Klein led a vigil service, followed by a St. Joseph’s Society rosary service.

Grobe was born Jan. 22, 1945, in Fredericksburg, the son of Eddie Grobe and Lillie Fiedler Grobe. He married Charlotte Weber on May 28, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and she survives.
