Perry Hugo Wendel

Perry Hugo Wendel, 64, of Leakey, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, in a San Antonio hospital.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where the funeral will begin at 2 p.m.

Interment follows at a later date in the Wendel Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Viola Tinney Hodges, 99, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 27, from 5-7 p.m., and Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m., at Fredericksburg Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m., at Fredericksburg Funeral Home, with private interment following at the Christadelphian Cemetery at Hye.

Memorials may be made to the Golden Hub’s Meals on Wheels, Hill Country Memorial Home Health Care or to the charity of choice.

Dale T.  Fletcher, 82, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m., at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

Private interment of the ashes will be at the Meusebach Creek Cemetery.

Michael (Coach) Armstrong, 67, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, in a San Antonio hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at Der Stadt Friedhlof.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund, V.F.W. Post 7105 or to the charity of choice.

James C. (JC) Duston, 85, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in a nursing facility in Georgetown.

Mrs. Lloyd O. Hemphill, 75, nee Patricia Donna Whitaker, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Fredericksburg Food Pantry, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of choice.

Clarence Robert Hoffman

Clarence Robert Hoffman, 88, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Harlingen, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services and interment are being held today, Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m., at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.

Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1001 East Jackson Street, Harlingen, TX 78550 or to a charity of choice.

Gary Wayne Itri


GARY WAYNE ITRI

Gary Wayne Itri, 63, of Fredericksburg and formerly of California, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Thursday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael Boulette officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist and Tricia Eilers, the vocalist.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday morning and early afternoon.

Itri was born Feb. 9, 1950, in Fredericksburg, the son of Henry John Itri and Marie Williamson Itri.

At the age of 12 years, Itri’s musical career began as a member of a boy band, “The Crossfires”. Music producer Richie Podoler then brought the band to Los Angeles to record. 

Years later, he played bass with Roger Miller, performing once at the White House.

Other groups he was part of included “Blues Image,” “Hot,” “The Dillards,” and “S.S. Fools.”

Norma L. Kraus


NORMA L. KRAUS

Norma L. Kraus, 99, nee Becker, of San Antonio, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at St. Francis Nursing Home in San Antonio.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Gerard Catholic Church in San Antonio with the Rev. Jim Shea officiating. Loyd Le Blanc was the organist, and Renee Scheel, the vocalist.

Interment followed at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio.

Arrangements were under the direction of Mission Chapel Funeral Chapels South of San Antonio.

Mrs. Kraus was born in Fredericksburg on Dec. 27, 1914, the daughter of Adolph Becker and Cornelia Hopf Becker. She married Louis W. Kraus on July 2, 1941, in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death in 1982.

She grew up in Doss and attended the Doss School.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Genny Kraus, and a son-in-law, David Ransleben, all of San Antonio, and a sister, Vernell Ahrens of Kerrville.

Mrs. Ronald McCormick


MRS. RONALD McCORMICK

Mrs. Ronald McCormick, 66, nee Caren Sue Conoly, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Matthies officiating.

Visitation was held beforehand.

Mrs. McCormick was born Feb. 9, 1947, in Dallas, the daughter of John Daniel Conoly and Mary Evelyn Curtis Conoly. She married Ronald McCormick on Dec. 27, 1968, in Dallas and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. McCormick is survived by one son, Greg McCormick of Midlothian; one sister, Cecilia Conoly of Oklahoma City, Okla., and two brothers, Steven Conoly of Fort Worth and Michael Conoly of Mesquite.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
