Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Sr.


CLAUDIO ALONZO RAMIREZ SR.

Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Sr., 83, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Monday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

The body was cremated with interment of the cremains planned at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service, led by Deacon Francisco de la Torre, were held Sunday evening, Feb. 16.

Ramirez was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Pleasanton, the son of Nicanor Ramirez and Estevana Reyes Ramirez. His wife, the former Cruz Rangel, survives.

Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Schelnick, 73, nee Judy Burrier of Willow City, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at Heart Hospital of Austin.

Bernard Stehling

Bernard Stehling, 92, of Doss, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass is being celebrated today, Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with entombment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the Doss Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Dr. William J. (Bill) Taylor


DR. WILLIAM J. (BILL) TAYLOR

Dr. William J. (Bill) Taylor, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. D.G. McCoury officiating. Also participating in the service was Donald Taylor, mayor of the Shetland Islands.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Taylor was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Dundee, Scotland, the son of William Craigie Taylor and Catherine Clark Taylor. He married Margaret Anne McKiein in 1951 in Dundee, Scotland, and she survives.

A graduate of New Zealand Baptist Theological Seminary, Taylor also earned degrees from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, Fla., and Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburg, Ind.

After pastoring churches in New Zealand from 1956-1972, Taylor relocated to Texas and pastored churches in Monahans, Beaumont and Dayton.

Sherrie A. Tomlinson

Sherrie A. Tomlinson, 69, nee Kneese, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014.

No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ms. Tomlinson was born July 17, 1944, in Bandera, the daughter of Walter Kneese and Cora Miller Kneese.

For many years, she was the administrative assistant to the provost marshal at Fort Sam Houston.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, including Duan and Tanja Tomlinson of Blanco, and Troy and Genny Tomlinson of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to the charity of choice.

Pauline Hale Watts, 92, of Kerrville and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Foundation or the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Le Moine E. (Woody) Wood, 77, of Stonewall, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4-6 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 21, from 7-10 a.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, with interment following in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Ella Erna (Ellie) Jung Buchholz


ELLIE JUNG BUCHHOLZ

Ella Erna (Ellie) Jung Buchholz, 79, of Wolfe City and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Larry Adams officiating.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday evening, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Buchholz was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Sisterdale, the daughter of Alfred Jung and Lydia Teschner Jung. She married Carl Henry Buchholz Jr. on Dec. 3, 1964, in Seguin. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Buchholz was self-employed and retired from the moving industry.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jay Warnock of Wolfe City, and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Paul Matheney, Rick Matheney, Scott Riggs, Herbert Klein Jr., David Weinheimer and Brent Weinheimer.

Pedro (Pete) Cantu


PEDRO (PETE) CANTU

Pedro (Pete) Cantu, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Reverends Guadalupe Hernandez and Hector Lopez officiating.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday evening, Feb. 2, and Monday morning, Feb. 3, at the funeral chapel.

A worship service was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Cantu, a resident of the Luckenbach community, was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Floresville, the son of Vincente Cantu and Tiadosa Robles Cantu. He married Dominga Arizola in 1945 and she survives.
