Mrs. Waldmar Hoppe


MRS. WALDMAR HOPPE

Mrs. Waldmar Hoppe, 92, nee Gertrud (Ann) Cwielong of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services and interment were held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Deacon Norman Beabout officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hoppe was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Germany, the daughter of Anton Cwielong and Maria Noska Cwielong. She married Friedrich Waldmar Hoppe who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons and spouses, including Eric and Darty Hoppe of Fredericksburg; Roy Hoppe, Houston, and Bernie and Judy Hoppe, Toronto, Canada.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth Schnable.

Mrs. Hoppe’s parents also preceded her in death.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Adolph (Buddy) Jung


ADOLPH (BUDDY) JUNG

Adolph Palmer (Buddy) Jung, 81, of San Antonio, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 27, at 9 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home in Comfort with Larry Adams leading the services.

Interment followed in the Comfort Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday evening, Jan. 26, at the funeral home.

Jung was born June 29, 1932, in Kendall County, the son of Walter Jung and Nellie Tatsch Jung. He married Ruth Ann Albrecht on April 18, 1959 in Comfort, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Jung is survived by one son, Steven Jung of San Antonio; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Art Coles of Fannin, and three grandchildren.

Survivors also include a sister, Ruby, Mrs. Carl Rechenthin of Sisterdale, and two sisters-in-law, Helen, Mrs. Lee Jung, and Louise, Mrs. Dan Jung, both of Fredericksburg.

Rollie Ed Keese

Rollie Ed Keese, 74, of Austin, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m., at the Stonewall Community Cemetery in Stonewall.

 Memorials may be made to Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship, 1801 Kinney Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, or Austin Intergroup, 1825 Fort View Road, Suite 104, Austin, TX 78704.

Arrangements are under the direction of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home South Congress, Austin.

John Kevin Mannix, 57, of San Antonio, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

A memorial mass will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, 111 Barilla, San Antonio.

Robert (Bob) Meyers


ROBERT (BOB) MEYERS

Robert (Bob) Meyers, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.

Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 27, in the Family Chapel of Greenwood Cemetery with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Meyers was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Robert William Meyers and Ruth Powers Meyers. His wife, the former Margaret Lee, survives.

Before becoming an investment broker, Meyers served in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife, Meyers is survived by one son, Robert Meyers Jr., of New York; a daughter, Mary Kathleen Meyers of Florida, and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to Heritage School, Hill Country Community Needs Council or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Felix M. Moritz, 85, nee Evelyn H. Kozielski, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 5-7 p.m., and Thursday, Jan. 30, from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hos-pice.

Charles Arthur (Chuck) Steinweg


CHARLES (CHUCK) STEINWEG

Charles Arthur (Chuck) Steinweg, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Anne Finn officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Steinweg was born June 29, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Arthur Steinweg and Delia Meilicke Steinweg. He married Winnie Crump, on Jan. 14, 1995, in Scottsdale, Ariz., and she survives.

A 1958 graduate of Edina Morningside High School, in Edina, Minn., Steinweg graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1962.

He was retired from his own spa manufacturing business.

In addition to his wife, Steinweg is survived by a daughter, Tracie Engel of Oceanside, Calif.; a son, Mike Steinweg of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert L. and Barbara Steinweg of Plano.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors at Nebo or to the charity of choice.

Martha Waddell, 87, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Perry Hugo Wendel, 64, of Leakey, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, in a San Antonio hospital.

Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 27, from 5-7 p.m., and Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m., at Fredericksburg Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m., at Fredericksburg Funeral Home, with private interment following at the Christadelphian Cemetery at Hye.

Dale T.  Fletcher, 82, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m., at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

Private interment of the ashes will be at the Meusebach Creek Cemetery.
