Mrs. James (Frank) Huffstetler

Mrs. James (Frank) Huffstetler, 77, nee Wynona Fay Wash, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Richland Springs, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains in the Richland Springs Cemetery is planned at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Huffstetler was born July 14, 1938, in Richland Springs, the daughter of Herman Clark Wash and Harriet Christian Wash. She married James Frank Huffstetler in February 1955 in Richland Springs, and worked as an office manager in the medical field.

Mrs. Huffstetler is survived by one daughter, two sons and spouses, including Catherine H. Gehrts of Fredericksburg; Clark and Tammie Huffstetler of Wylie, and Samuel (Sam) and Charlotte Huffstetler of Lufkin.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Cathy Wash of Arlington.

Lionas L. Jones


LIONAS L. JONES

Lionas L. Jones, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 16, 2015.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 20, in the chapel at Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Jones was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Yoakum, the son of Garmen Lee Jones and Mamie Grimmer Jones. His wife, Antionette Katherine Jones, preceded him in death.

Jones is survived by three children and spouses, including Beverly and Buddy McDaniel of Duncan, Oklahoma; Betty Jones of Pocatello, Idaho, and Becky and Wayne Fultz of Deer Park; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include three siblings, Leonard Jones of Lago Vista, Lois Bell of College Station and Bobby Jones of Georgetown.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jones was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, including Garmen Jones Jr., Donald Jones, Louise Hagen, Ray Jones, Roy Jones and Edith Hansen.

Doris M. Pinner

Doris M. Pinner, 95, nee Marheinke, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Comfort, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 25, at St. Boniface Episcopal Church in Comfort.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, American Diabetes Association, Cal Farley Boys Ranch or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Claude Eugene Robertson

Claude Eugene Robertson, 77, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, July 19, 2015, at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Hill Country University Center, 2818 E. U.S. Highway 290, Fredericksburg.

 Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Lloyd Ed Schlaudt


LLOYD ED SCHLAUDT

Lloyd Ed Schlaudt, 59, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 18, at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening.

Schlaudt was born March 4, 1956, in Fredericksburg, the son of Martin Schlaudt and Harriett Crenwelge Schlaudt.

He ranched in the Cherry Spring community and owned and operated several businesses over the years, including Lloyd’s Paint and Body and his red granite gravel hauling business called SRV Trucking.

Schlaudt and his brother-in-law, Johnny Nicholas, also cut and sold firewood under the name of Woody’s Wood Service for several years in the early 1980s.

Rex K. Taylor


REX K. TAYLOR

Rex K. Taylor, 54, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 16, 2015.

A memorial service was held at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 19, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Taylor was born May 6, 1961, in San Angelo, the son of Frederick Taylor and Joyce Rogers Taylor. He married Lori Libricz and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Taylor is survived by his parents, Frederick and Joyce Taylor; a sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Rodney Lott, and a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Jamie Taylor, all of Llano.

Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses or to the charity of choice.

Dennis Dean Bernhard, 75, of Harper, died Saturday, July 11, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, at St. James Lutheran Church in Harper, with interment following in the Harper Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bradley Bernhard Scholarship Fund, St. James Lutheran Church, Harper Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of choice.

Rosalinda Saucedo Contreras, 96, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, July 5, 2015.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where rosary services were held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 8.

Graveside services and interment will be held at a later date in the San Juan de Mata Cemetery in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico.

Mrs. Contreras was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Mexico, the daughter of Miguel Saucedo and Perfecta Lara Saucedo.

Mrs. Wilbur Hall


MRS. WILBUR HALL

Mrs. Wilbur Hall, 90, nee Edwina Carmen Lowgren of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, July 12, 2015.

Graveside services and interment were held at 10 a.m., today, Wednesday, July 15, at the Junction Cemetery in Junction with the Rev. Pam Traver officiating.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hall was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Junction, the daughter of Edwin O. Lowgren and Mittie Kidd Lowgren. She married Wilbur Hall on Nov. 22, 1945, in Junction. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2010.

She is survived by distant relatives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance (PCAA), Fredericksburg United Methodist Church Foundation or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Mervil Kaiser


MRS. MERVIL KAISER

Mrs. Mervil Kaiser, 80, nee Elizabeth (Betty) Day of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service was held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Herold officiating.

Visitation was held before the service.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains was held at 9 a.m., today, Wednesday, July 15, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Mrs. Kaiser was born July 5, 1935, in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of John Day and Rose Griffin Day. She married Mervil Kaiser on Dec. 18, 1959, in Glasgow, Scotland, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kaiser is survived by two daughters, Christine Valentine of Kyle, and Kathryn Baggett and her husband, Clif, of Galveston, and four grandchildren.
