Funeral service announcements

ANTHONY JOSEPH MAIMER

Anthony Joseph Maimer, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, June 2, 2014.

Graveside services with military honors, and entombment of his cremains, will be held Friday, June 6, at 9 a.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

A rosary service and memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

 

BILL STAFFORD

Bill Noah Stafford, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held beforehand, from 3-4 p.m.

Private family disposition of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Mrs. Curtis Feller

Mrs. Curtis Feller, 80, nee Betsy Brandon of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Kenneth Wayne Reeder

Kenneth Wayne Reeder, 67, of Pflugerville, died Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, May 28, from 6-8 p.m., at Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 29, at 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Pflugerville.

Graveside services and interment will follow at 4 p.m., Thursday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Irene Roberts


IRENE ROBERTS

Irene Roberts, 99, nee Tobin, of Harper, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at Wild Ride Ministries Church in Harper with the Rev. Mike Weaver officiating.

Interment followed in the Harper Community Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday evening, May 20.

Mrs. Roberts was born July 21, 1914, in Harper, the daughter of Robert Houston Tobin and Theresa Ann Weathers Tobin. She married Roy Roberts on March 19, 1932. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue Black of Harper and Beverly Taylor of Eagle Lake, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel.

 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Kenneth Wayne Reeder, 67, of Pflugerville, died Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Will Rogers Berggren


WILL ROGERS BERGGREN

Will Rogers Berggren, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

A memorial service was held Friday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Elliot Pancoast officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Berggren was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Dallas, the son of Aurtur Berggren and Flora Hildebrand Berggren, and was named after the cowboy philosopher Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash the week before.

He married Lynn Jahns on April 20, 1984, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and she survives.

Berggren spent his early years in Dallas before moving to West Texas where he attended Odessa High School.

Upon graduation from Texas Western College in El Paso where he was a yell leader and president of his class, Berggren returned to Odessa to help with his family’s flower shop.

Mrs. Arley J. Goulden

Mrs. Arley J. Goulden, 86, nee Esther P. Weinheimer, of Marshall, died Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held Monday, May 12, at Algoma South Cemetery in Marshall with the Rev. Craig VanBiber of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Marshall officiating.

Mrs. Goulden was born April 6, 1928, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Richard and Selma Weinheimer. She married Dr. Arley J. Goulden in 1966, and he survives.

A Fredericksburg High School graduate, Mrs. Goulden worked at several places in Fredericksburg prior to her marriage.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one sister, Anne McGrory of Memphis, Tennessee; three brothers-in-law, Darrell Goulden Jr., Bob Goulden and David Goulden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and five siblings, including, Elsie Gordon; Nora, Mrs. Marcus Wehmeyer; Vera Fant; Richard (Chet) Weinheimer, and John Weinheimer.
