Clifford L. Hahne

CLIFFORD L. HAHNE

Clifford L. Hahne, 79, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in San Antonio.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening, April 27.

Hahne was born Sept. 4, 1936, in Gillespie County, the son of Elbert Hahne and Vera Lorenz Hahne. He married Patsy Heimann on Feb. 15, 1958, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Hahne is survived by two children and spouses, Bradley and Jan Hahne and Lizette and Stephen Fiedler, all of Fredericksburg, and two grandchildren.

He is also survived by five sisters-in-law and spouses.

Hahne’s parents preceded him in death.

Lawrence Straube

Lawrence Straube, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, May 2, 2016, at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, and 7-10 a.m. Thursday, May 5.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Doss Volunteer Fire Department, Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Michael E. Friederich

Mrs. Michael E. Friederich, 57, nee Kelly Jean Martin of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

A rosary service, followed by a funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the Marienkirche, with the Rev. Krys Bytomski officiating.

Interment of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Friederich was born Feb. 19, 1959, in Plattsburg, New York, the daughter of John Carnill and Mary Jean Martin Carnill. She married Michael Eugene Friederich on Aug. 13, 1988, in Kissimmee, Florida, and he survives. 

She had worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at the V.A. Medical Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Friederich is survived by her parents, John and Mary Jean Carnill of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and two sisters, Carol Riggleman of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and Karen Wiles and her husband, Scott, of Blacksburg, South Carolina.

Kyara Gabriella Galindo

Kyara Gabriella Galindo, 20, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with interment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to cancer research.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Arthur Koennecke Jr., 82, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Mrs. Kenneth Edwards (Ken) Smith

MRS. KEN SMITH

Mrs. Kenneth Edwards (Ken) Smith, 76, nee Pearl Ann Burleson of Fredericksburg, died Monday, April 18, 2016.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening, April 26, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston.

Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Menard County, the daughter of Willie Burleson and Lela Wilma Woolf Burleson. She married Kenneth Edwards (Ken) Smith on Dec. 23, 1961, in San Angelo, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Melody Smith of Galveston and Trudi Smith of Houston, and one brother, Henry Bert Burleson of Winters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers, Willie Jean Burleson, Wilma Jane Jacoby and Earl Burleson.

Memorials may be made to The Good Samaritan Center or to the charity of choice.

David Andrew Treiber, 45, of Waring, died Sunday, April 24, 2016.

Mrs. Henry Wurzburg

MRS. HENRY WURZBURG

Mrs. Henry Wurzburg, 70, nee Arlene Ross of Austin, died Jan. 26, 2016.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at the Cardinal Room at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course.

Mrs. Wurzburg was born Dec. 8, 1945, in Alvin, the daughter of Lloyd Ross and Lois Watson Ross. She married Henry Wurzburg who survives.

She attended Alamo Heights High School where she was the drum major of the marching band.

She was a realtor.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wurzburg is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Karie Lardon of Flower Mound, and one granddaughter.

She is also survived by a sister, Sheryl Cooper of Farmersville, Louisiana, and her mother, Lois Ross of Fredericksburg.

Mrs. Wurzburg’s father preceded her in death.

Verne Allen

VERNE ALLEN

Verne Allen, 75, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, March 28, 2016.

A celebration of his life was held Sunday afternoon, April 17, at the Austin Street Java Haus.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Allen was born April 13, 1940, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Roscoe Allen and Florence Beyers Allen. He married Cornelia (Binky) Buck and she survives.

A United States Air Force veteran, Allen served for 24 years and retired as a colonel.

He and his wife owned and operated Austin Street Java Haus for 20 years.

In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by a daughter, Lisa Allen of Liberty Hill, and a stepson, James Wilson and his wife, Karin, of Omaha, Nebraska, and two granddaughters.

He is also survived by the following siblings: James Allen and his wife, Patricia of Houston; Daniel Allen and his wife, Theresa of Mt. Vernon, Washington, and Vickie McNeese of Fort Collins, Colorado.
