Cleo Kraatz

Cleo Kraatz, 93, nee Raab, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015.

Private services were planned by the family.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kraatz was born March 24, 1922, in Alice, the daughter of Herman Raab and Margaret Hirsch Raab.  She was married to Alvie Kraatz Sr. who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alvie and Cynthia Kraatz of Harper; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Emmalee Raab of Victoria.

 In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kraatz was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Howe; two sons, Kenneth Kraatz and Bruce Kraatz; one brother, Frank Raab, and one sister, Norma Hayes.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or the charity of choice.

Ethel Marie Nietenhoefer

Ethel Marie Nietenhoefer, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Harold W. Pape


HAROLD W. PAPE

Harold W. Pape, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services and interment were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, at the Harper Community Cemetery with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Pape was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Gillespie County, the son of Willie Otto Pape and Helen Wake Pape. He married Edna Arlitt on March 13, 1961, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Pape is survived by two sisters, one brother and spouses, including June Prade of San Antonio, Margaret Joyce Landrum of Hitchcock, and David Ronald Pape of Oregon.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church or the charity of choice.

Peggy Perryman


PEGGY PERRYMAN

Peggy Perryman, 85, nee Lieb, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at the Family Chapel in Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. William Breen officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Perryman was born March 23, 1930, in Sayre, Oklahoma, the daughter of Chesta and Clara Lieb. She married Donald Perryman on March 25, 1950, in Borger, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Perryman is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Heffelinger of Plano and a brother, Billy Lieb of Florida.

Mrs. Perryman was preceded in death by her parents, as well as two sons, Donald Perryman and David Perryman, and one brother, Kenneth Lieb.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Rev. Nolan Sagebiel


REV. NOLAN SAGEBIEL

Rev. Nolan Sagebiel, 88, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Christ Lutheran Church at Cherry Spring with the Rev. Mark A. Ward officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday evening, Dec. 29.

Sagebiel was born July 1, 1927, in Fredericksburg, the son of Arthur and Ida Sagebiel.

 Sagebiel attended Texas Lutheran College, Wartburg College and Wartburg Theological Seminary.

He served Lutheran churches across South and Central Texas during his 50 years in the ministry. He was also a part-time cattle rancher.

Sagebiel is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nolan and Kara Sagebiel and Philip and Cathy Sagebiel; one granddaughter; one brother, Reinhold Sagebiel, and one sister, Elsie Koennecke.

West-Davis

A memorial service for Frankie West-Davis will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the McAdams Family Cemetery near Huntsville.

Mrs. West-Davis, a resident of Brandenburg, Kentucky, was born March 18, 1926. She died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015.

Her obituary was published in the Dec. 2 edition of the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post.

Mrs. Douglas Behrends, 53, nee Beverly Ann Usener, of Blanco and Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015.

Louis Castaneda, 74, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 5-7 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 31, from 7-9:45 a.m.

A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Schaetter Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Elgin Heimann, 93, nee Norma Pearl Kissel of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Alton Kallenberg

Alton Kallenberg, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Knopp Assisted Living Center.

A private graveside service and interment were planned by the family at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Kallenberg was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Fredericksburg, the son of Ernst Kallenberg and Minna Luersen Kallenberg. He married Alice Stehling on Sept. 14, 1946, in Fredericksburg. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1980.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Kallenberg is survived by two sons, two daughters and spouses, including Richard Kallenberg, David Kallenberg, Danette and Charles Besancon and Gayle and Karl Lorcher.

Survivors also include four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Kallenberg was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
