Mrs. Leroy Boessling

Mrs. Leroy Boessling, 92, nee Frances Leona Davidson of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service and disposition of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Boessling was born Sept. 17, 1921, in McLean, the daughter of Robert Allen Davidson and Lula Bell Franks Davidson. She married Leroy Boessling on Sept. 20, 1941, in Houston. He preceded her in death.

Over the years, Mrs. Boessling worked as a secretary for various companies.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ted Gonzales of Gallup, N.M.; a daughter-in-law, Susan, Mrs. Leroy Boessling of Fredericksburg, and a brother and spouse, Albert and Eddie Davidson of Thorndale.

Marvin Honig


MARVIN HONIG

Marvin Honig, 84, of Harper, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Hofmann officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday, evening, Dec. 27, and Saturday morning, Dec. 28, at the funeral chapel.

Honig was born April 25, 1929, in Kimble County, the son of Dan W. Honig and Minna Kirchhoff Honig. He married Myrtle Oestreich on Sept. 16, 1950, in Fredericksburg. She preceded him in death.

Honig is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, including Catherine and Clinton Blumberg Jr., San Antonio; Donna Clifton, Brownwood, and Lynette Baker, Fredericksburg; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Fred Lallier


MRS. FRED LALLIER

Mrs. Fred Lallier, 89, nee Alta Lee Baker of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Traver officiating.

Visitation was held beforehand.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Lallier was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Bluff, the daughter of William Monroe Baker and Nellie Jane Crider Baker. She married Fred P. Lallier Jr. on July 16, 1951, in Houston. He preceded her in death.

She was an artist as well as a life member of the VFW Post 7105 Ladies’ Auxiliary.

Included among her survivors is a sister, Leoma Chatfield of New Mexico, and a sister-in-law, Elenor, Mrs. Leslie Baker of Center Point.

Mrs. Elmer Lange

Mrs. Elmer Lange, 80, nee Joyce Spaeth, of Harper, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation will be held today, Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m., at St. James Lutheran Church in Harper with interment following in the Harper Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church of Harper, Harper Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, or to the charity of choice.

Robert Chapman Mays

Robert Chapman Mays, 79, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, in an Austin hospital.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, the Gillespie County Texas A&M Scholarship Fund, the Wounded Warriors or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Ewald Enos Rode


MRS. EWALD RODE

Mrs. Ewald Enos Rode, 96, nee Elsa Anna Meier of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Reverends J. Elliott Pancoast and Travis Meier officiating.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Monday evening, Dec. 30.

Mrs. Rode was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Heinrich (Henry) Meier and Emma Brodbeck Meier. She married Ewald Enos Rode on Dec. 10, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stonewall. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1992.

Mrs. Rode was active with the Lydia Circle at Bethany Lutheran Church. She also sang with the Fredericksburg Chorale and the Hermann Sons Mixed Choir.

Robert Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez, 68, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in a San Antonio hospital.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, from 2-6 p.m.,at 181 Shorty’s Lane.

Memorials may be made to the ALS Association
(www.alsa.org), or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anthony Winans

Mrs. Anthony Winans, 57, nee Ruth Anne Maddy of Harper, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013.

A memorial service and interment of her cremains will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Winans was born May 29, 1956, in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of John Maddy and Ruth Moore Maddy. She married Anthony Winans on June 19, 1982, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Winans is survived by a son, Jeremy Allen Winans of Dickenson, N.D.

Memorials may be made to the Harper Library or to the charity of choice.
