CALVIN EDGAR WEBER

Calvin Edgar Weber, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel.

 Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

 Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospital or to the charity of choice.

 

KENNETH WAYNE REEDER

Kenneth Wayne Reeder, 67, of Pflugerville, died Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 28, from 6-8 p.m., at Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 29, at 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Pflugerville.

Will Rogers Berggren


WILL ROGERS BERGGREN

Will Rogers Berggren, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

A memorial service was held Friday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Elliot Pancoast officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Berggren was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Dallas, the son of Aurtur Berggren and Flora Hildebrand Berggren, and was named after the cowboy philosopher Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash the week before.

He married Lynn Jahns on April 20, 1984, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and she survives.

Berggren spent his early years in Dallas before moving to West Texas where he attended Odessa High School.

Upon graduation from Texas Western College in El Paso where he was a yell leader and president of his class, Berggren returned to Odessa to help with his family’s flower shop.

Mrs. Arley J. Goulden

Mrs. Arley J. Goulden, 86, nee Esther P. Weinheimer, of Marshall, died Saturday, May 10, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held Monday, May 12, at Algoma South Cemetery in Marshall with the Rev. Craig VanBiber of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Marshall officiating.

Mrs. Goulden was born April 6, 1928, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Richard and Selma Weinheimer. She married Dr. Arley J. Goulden in 1966, and he survives.

A Fredericksburg High School graduate, Mrs. Goulden worked at several places in Fredericksburg prior to her marriage.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one sister, Anne McGrory of Memphis, Tennessee; three brothers-in-law, Darrell Goulden Jr., Bob Goulden and David Goulden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and five siblings, including, Elsie Gordon; Nora, Mrs. Marcus Wehmeyer; Vera Fant; Richard (Chet) Weinheimer, and John Weinheimer.

Juanita G. Perez


JUANITA G. PEREZ

Juanita G. Perez, 98, nee Garcia, of Ingleside, died on her birthday, May 6, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ingleside, with interment following in the San Ignacio Cemetery in Ingleside.

Arrangements were under the direction of Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass where visitation and a rosary service were held Friday, May 9.

Mrs. Perez was born May 6, 1916, in Aransas Pass, the daughter of Manuel and Sinforosa Garcia.

 She was a lifetime resident of the Ingleside and Aransas Pass areas, and was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Ingleside.

 Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Cipriano and Isaura Perez, and her daughter, Sinforosa Avalos, all of Ingleside; 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Felix P. Petsch


MRS. FELIX P. PETSCH

Mrs. Felix P. Petsch, 96, nee Cora Emma Pehl of Fredericksburg, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 A funeral mass was celebrated Thursday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeff Pehl and Msgr. Michael Boulette officiating.

 Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, while Rick and Diane McManigle were the cantors.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

 Deacon Pat Klein led vigil-rosary services Wednesday evening in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held that evening and Thursday morning.

Mrs. Petsch was born March 7, 1918, in Stonewall, the daughter of Gustav G. Pehl and Rosa Nebgen Pehl. She married Felix P. Petsch on Nov. 12, 1941, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death.

For many years, Mrs. Petsch and her husband owned and operated Maytag Appliance and Service Center on North Llano Street.

Irene Roberts

Irene Roberts, 99, of Harper, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Funeral services are being held today, Wednesday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at Wild Ride Ministry Church in Harper with interment following in the Harper Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Wild Ride Ministry, Harper Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Harper Community Cemetery or to the charity of choice.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allan A. Schneider, 83, nee Corrine (Susie) Schwiening, of Fredericksburg died Monday, May 19, 2014.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, from 4-7 p.m. with a vigil service at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Graveside services and entombment of her cremains will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the charity of choice.

Mrs. Randall (Randy) McBride, 79, nee Jo Joyce Wahl of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Friday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, May 17, from 7 to 8:15 a.m.

The body will lie in state at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel until 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 and from 9 to 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church where the funeral will begin at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
