Mami Mary Gurrola


MAMI MARIA GURROLA

Mami Mary Gurrola, 64, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 4, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Janysek officiating.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Deacon Francisco DeLaTorre led a vigil service Tuesday evening, July 8, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held that evening and Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Gurrola was born April 15, 1950, in Mexico, the daughter of Auerilio Rivera and Maria Neri Rivera. She married Guillermo Gurrola who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, three sons and spouses, including Memo and Ana Gurrola, Javier and Noemi Gurrola and Lore Gurrola, all of Fredericksburg, and Raymundo and Pilar Gurrola of Frisco.

Survivors also include 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Harold Louis Karger

Harold Louis Karger, 92, of Comfort, died Sunday, July 7, 2014.

Graveside services with military honors and interment were held Monday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at Imperial Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort.

Karger was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Kendall County, the son of Louis Karger and Jennie Sabban Karger. He married Genevie Blossom who preceded him in death.

A World War II veteran, Karger served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 7, 1942, until Dec. 9, 1945, and was discharged as a private first class.

Survivors include two sisters, Paula Allerkamp of Comfort, and Jean Lois Mohr of Fredericksburg.

In addition to his wife and parents, Karger was preceded in death by two sisters, Milbie Bohnert and Bella Luedke.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Lonnie Lett


MRS. LONNIE LETT

Mrs. Lonnie Lett, 61, nee Cynthia Kay Bucher of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 4, 2014.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 10, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Davis officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Mrs. Lett was born Oct. 25, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Elwood Schroder Bucher and Eddie Bob Matheson Bucher. She married Lonnie Lett, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lett is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, Gary and Elizabeth Lett of Conroe and Keri and Gary Hefner of Magnolia.

Survivors also include five grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Evelyn Lett of Snook; a sister and spouse, Margo and Stewart Seely of New York, and a brother-in-law and spouse, Teddy and Lisa Lett of Snook.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Alva Hale Lett.

Manuel Marshall (Manny) Snow

Manuel Marshall (Manny) Snow, 29, of Rochelle and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 11, 2014, as the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.

The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, July 16, from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the family to defray expenses.

Ellen Spinale

Ellen Spinale, 58, nee Schwartz, of Harper, died Thursday, July 10, 2014.

Services are planned in New York at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Spinale was born Oct. 19, 1955, in Jackson Heights, New York, the daughter of Edmund Schwartz and Rita Hughes Schwartz. She married Joseph Spinale who survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Spinale is survived by her mother, Rita Schwartz of New York, and three siblings, Brian Schwartz, Terry Schwartz and Tara Schwartz, all of New York.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s of Alcantera Outreach, 1327 Port Washington Blvd., Port Washington, New York 11050.

James E. Talley, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 14, 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 19, at 2 p.m., at Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Walter Werner


MRS. WALTER WERNER

Mrs. Walter Werner, 96, nee Emma Pauline Fischer of Comfort, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home in Comfort with the Rev. Shelly Summont officiating.

Interment followed that afternoon in the Blanco Cemetery in Blanco.

Visitation was held Monday evening and Tuesday morning at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Werner was born Dec. 21, 1917, in Blanco County, the daughter of Herman Fischer and Emma Jonas Fischer. She married Walter Werner in February 1935 in Kendalia. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Melvin Werner of Comfort and Raymond Werner of Conroe.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

William Emmett (Bill) White

William Emmett (Bill) White, 91, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 7, 2014.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Jason Fry officiating.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

White was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of William White and Louise Wells White. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Freeman on March 21, 1947, in Georgia, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, White is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, Amanda and Gary Edwards of Peoria, Arizona, and David and Lydell White of Fredericksburg; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include a sister-in-law, Lindell White of Jacksonville, Florida.

White was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bob White, and a brother, Hugh White.

Norma Frantzen, 96, nee Wendel, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 11, 2014.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, from 5-8 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 17, from 9-10 a.m., at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where the funeral will begin at 10 a.m.

Interment follows in Der Stadt Friedhof.

Memorials may be made to Kids for Christ, Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Mary Ann Gertrude Maurer Boos, 77, of Seguin, died July 13, 2014.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 15, from 5-7 p.m., at Tres Hewell Mortuary, 165 Tor Dr., Seguin.

Mrs. William Cosper


MRS. WILLIAM COSPER

Mrs. William Cosper, 85, nee Helen Kramer, of Louisiana and formerly of Harper, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, July 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harper with the Rev. Martin Garcia-Avila officiating.

Interment followed in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Monday evening, June 30.

Mrs. Cosper was born Sept. 24, 1928, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Alfred Kramer and Katie Fiedler Kramer. She married William Thomas Cosper who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2004.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Phillips, and a daughter-in-law, Mary Alice, Mrs. Sammy Cosper Sr., both of Louisiana.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister, Margaret Bridges of Kerrville.
