LeRoy Walter Kramer

LeRoy Walter Kramer, 78, of San Antonio, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Antonio, with interment following at Meadowlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Arrangements were under the direction of Meadowlawn Funeral Home of San Antonio.

Jane G. Livingston


JANE G. LIVINGSTON

Jane G. Livingston, 88, nee Griffith, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in the chapel at Fredericksburg Funeral Home with Chaplain William Karlson officiating.

Mrs. Livingston was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Dallas, the daughter of Robert T. Griffith and Laura Belle Robinson Griffith. She married Sidney Lanier Livingston on Aug. 30, 1947, in Dallas and he survives.

She was a member of Rotary International’s Paul Harris Society.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Livingston is survived by two daughters, Janet A. Livingston of San Antonio and Judy Livingston of Fredericksburg, and a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Betty Livingston of Austin.

Survivors also include five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Alfred Charles Metzger


ALFRED CHARLES METZGER

Alfred Charles Metzger, 89, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in San Antonio, with interment following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Visitation and a rosary service were held Sunday evening, Feb. 14, at Porter-Loring North in San Antonio.

Metzger was born Feb. 25, 1926, at Luckenbach, the son of Alfred Metzger and Alma Stehling Metzger. He married Wanda Julie Bednareck in 1956. She preceded him in death in 2009.

He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Fredericksburg and Durham Business College in San Antonio.

Metzger was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1950-1954, and worked for American Airlines for 38 years before retiring in 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Lynn Metzger, and a son, Michael Jerome Metzger, both of San Antonio.

Lucy Ortega, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016.

Graveside services and interment were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Greenwood North Cemetery with Deacon Francisco De La Torre officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Kym Elizabeth Seavey

Kym Elizabeth Seavey, 58, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, in a San Antonio hospital.

A memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Interment of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Richard Timmer


DR. RICHARD TIMMER

Richard Timmer, M.D./Ph.D., of Houston and Colorado, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016.

No public memorial will be held.

Arrangements were under the direction of Unity Funeral Home of Houston.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 9, 1931, Timmer attended Kalamazoo College on a football scholarship, then earned his M.D./Ph.D. at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Timmer served as an assistant professor of anatomy at the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver, Colorado, and in the late 1960’s, served as associate dean of medicine at both the University of Louisville and UTMB while traveling the country as an National Institutes of Health committee member, to evaluate federal funding for medical schools.

In the late 1970’s, Timmer left administration to practice family medicine in Fredericksburg.

After that, he continued his practice in Houston and San Antonio until the early 1990’s, when he retired and returned Colorado.

Lorine Bruns


LORINE BRUNS

Lorine Bruns, 97, nee Mosel, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the chapel at Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Reverends Casey Zesch, Elliott Pancoast and Travis Meier officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening, Feb. 2, at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Bruns was born April 9, 1918, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Fritz Mosel and Selma Petermann Mosel. She married Richard Bruns on Dec. 3, 1939. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1973.

A 1936 graduate of Fredericksburg High School, Mrs. Bruns spent much of her adult life as a retail clerk in women’s clothing.

She was active with local civic organizations, prepared food for fundraisers and helped establish the first Fredericksburg Band Boosters Turkey Dinner which has become an annual event.

Alexander Nathanial Conley

Alexander Nathanial Conley, 21, of Boerne, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.

A memorial service is planned at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Conley was born Aug. 31, 1994, in El Cajon, California, the son of Christopher Conley and Ruth Arizola Conley.

Survivors include his parents, Christopher and Ruth Conley of Boerne; and two brothers, Christopher Conley and his wife, Brenna, of Japan, and Joshua Conley of Boerne.

He is also survived by grandparents, including Ruth Stehling of Fredericksburg; Shirley Kautz, Mississippi; David and Ladine Conley, Pennsylvania, and Ken and Cil Friesenhahn, Louisiana.
