Mrs. Edgar Durst, 99, nee Eleanor Brodie of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 21, at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Verner (Baldy) Durst, 86, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 21, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

Graveside services with military honors and interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Reba Sue Hudnall Eddins


REBA SUE HUDNALL EDDINS

Reba Sue Hudnall Eddins, 89, of Silver Spring, Maryland and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, May 8, 2015.

Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, at the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eddins was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Austin, the daughter of Willis Howell Hudnall and Bessie Idella Galloway Hudnall. She married Joseph Moye Eddins on April 29, 1945, at First United Methodist Church in Johnson City. He preceded her in death in 2007.

The couple resided in Austin for 21 years, during which she worked as a secretary at the Texas Employment Commission.

While living in Austin, she was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tarrytown.

The Eddins family moved to Towson, Maryland, in 1967, and after her husband’s retirement, the couple moved to Fredericksburg in 1993.

Elmer August Herbort


ELMER AUGUST HERBORT

Elmer August Herbort, 86, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Elliott Pancoast officiating.

Interment followed in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday evening, May 26.

Herbort was born Nov. 26, 1928, the son of Walter Herbort and Meta Althaus Herbort.

He was married to Adeline Eckhardt Carter for 21 years, and then to Vivian Danz Herbort for 42 years, until her death on Feb. 18, 2011.

A salesman most of his life, Herbort was a lumber broker, sold insurance and real estate until he retired in his 70’s.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and while he was a San Antonio resident, he belonged to the Toastmaster’s Club, Beethoven Maennerchor, and the Northside Lions Club.
