Larry Dyer


LARRY DYER

Larry Dyer, 88, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with Joe Kammlah officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Private burial of his ashes will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Dyer was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Abington, Pennsylvania, the son of Lawrence and Mira Dyer.

His first wife, Maria, preceded him in death. He married Maurine Jones on March 30, 1984, in Anahuac, and she survives.

Dyer was a retired captain with the United States Merchant Marine.

In addition to his wife, Dyer is survived by the following children: Christina Edwards and her husband, Ken, of Austin; Michael Dyer and his wife, Valerie Cadden, Houston; Becky Redman, Abilene; Tommy Wadley and his wife, Debra, Abilene; Jimmy Wadley and his wife, Poette, Abilene; Mike Wadley and his wife, Kathy, Baytown, and Byron Wadley and his wife, Jane, Longview.

Ramon Herrera

Ramon Herrera, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to Ave Maria Hospice, St. Mary’s Women’s ACTS or to the charity of choice. 

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Robert W. (Bob) Langehennig

Robert W. (Bob) Langehennig, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Reverends Alan Williams and Pam Traver officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Visitation was held Thursday evening and Friday morning at the funeral chapel.

Langehennig was born June 20, 1922, in Fredericksburg, the son of Alanzo Langehennig and Alma Lina Hohmann Langehennig. He married Helen Pehl on Sept. 18, 1950, at St. Mary’s Rectory, and she survives.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, worked as a farmer, rancher, rodeo cowboy, calf roper and raised hunting dogs.

In addition to his wife, Langehennig is survived by a brother, Walter Langehennig of Bandera.

Langehennig’s parents preceded him in death.

Thomas Edward (Tom) Staudt


THOMAS (TOM) STAUDT

Thomas Edward (Tom) Staudt, 62, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and the church choir sang.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Tuesday evening, Aug. 12.

Staudt was born Sept. 16, 1951, in San Benito, the son of Clemens Joseph Staudt and Marine Hodges Staudt. He married Sally Marie Haas on Dec. 23, 1970, in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Harlingen, and she survives.

A United States Navy veteran, Staudt served from 1970-1974.

In addition to his wife, Staudt is survived by two daughters, one son and spouses, including Sam and Kristin Staudt of Kyle, April Staudt of Fredericksburg and Amanda and Martin Hodo of Schertz.

Ramon Herrera, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Sunday, Aug. 17, and continues Monday, Aug. 18, from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

A rosary service will be held Monday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m., at the funeral chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m., at Hillier Funeral Home.

Ervin Eckert, 90, of Doss, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.

Mrs. Alois W. Kunz


MRS. ALOIS W. KUNZ

Mrs. Alois W. Kunz, 86, nee Madeline Margaret Segner of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Tricia Eilers, the vocalist.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Tuesday evening, Aug. 5.

Mrs. Kunz was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Otto Segner and Ida Nebgen Segner. She married Alois W. Kunz on June 15, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1990.

Survivors include one son, one daughter and spouses, Chris and Rhonda Kunz of San Antonio and Susan and Ferris Keller of Pflugerville; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Bertha Klinksiek Malochleb

Bertha Klinksiek Malochleb, 90, of Kerrville, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in a Kerrville hospital.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with Greg Cummings officiating.

Interment followed in the Garden of Memories.

Visitation was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Malochleb was born July 4, 1924, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Hugo Klinksiek and Olga Bohnert Klinksiek. She married Edward Alexander Malochleb on Oct. 23, 1942, in San Antonio.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1993.

She was a retired bookkeeper for a real estate developer and had been a member of Peterson Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Malochleb is survived by two daughters, Caroline Kensing of Fredericksburg and Peggy Contreras of Kingsland; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Peterson Auxiliary or Dietert Center Meals on Wheels.
