Herold Albert Treibs


HEROLD ALBERT TREIBS

Herold Albert Treibs, 84, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Treibs was born Nov. 29, 1929, in Fredericksburg, the son of Albert Treibs and Henrietta Itz Treibs. He married Beverly Dutton in 1956 and she survives.

He was valedictorian of the 1947 graduating class of Fredericksburg High School and graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown in 1951, with a degree in chemistry.

Treibs was a chemist, having worked at the Handford Atomic Energy Plant in Richland, Washington, and also at the Westinghouse Idaho Nuclear Company in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

In addition to his wife, Treibs is survived by a daughter, Susan Treibs of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and a son, Karl Treibs of Seattle, Washington.

He is also survived by a sister, Roselie Miiller, of Fredericksburg.

John Osborne Woods


JOHN OSBORNE WOODS

John Osborne Woods, 74, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Traver officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Monday morning.

Woods was born Dec. 21, 1939, in Danville, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Vickie Woods. He married Vivian (Cherry) Sprowls and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Woods is survived by three sons, including John Randall Wood, of Clute; John Daniel Wood, Fort Worth, and John Robert Wood and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Dallas.

He is also survived by three step daughters and spouses, including Scarlet Kennedy, Sheila and Jody Donovan and Loretta and Matthew Cotts, all of Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Martin Neri, 66, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 4-7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 7 a.m.-1:45 p.m.

A rosary service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m., at the funeral home.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

 

HAROLD LEE TAYLOR JR.

Harold Lee Taylor Jr., 70, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.

Arrangements are pending with Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Robert V. Cathey, 96, nee Maurine Weathers of Stonewall, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab.

Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Stonewall Baptist Church with interment following in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Visitation is being held from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Stonewall Baptist Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

George W. Davis, 75, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m., today, Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church, The Good Samaritan Center or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Jessica Suzanne Fields


JESSICA SUZANNE FIELDS

Jessica Suzanne Fields, 28, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday morning.

Ms. Fields was born Jan. 1, 1986, in San Antonio.

She is survived by one son, Drake Perez; her father, Mike Fields; her mother, Jena Andrews, and grandparents, Jim and Jeannette Fields.

Survivors also include four sisters: Jennifer Fields, Amanda Fields, Kari Fields and Michelle Delasantos.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Joshua Fields.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Michael Fields, Jena Andrews, Amanda Fields, Kari Fields, Michelle Delasantos and Ashley McCommas.

Dorothy Melba Koepke


DOROTHY MELBA KOEPKE

Dorothy Melba Koepke, 81, nee Beckmann, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Jason Fry officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening, Oct. 1.

Mrs. Koepke was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Beeville, the daughter of Dewey Charles Beckmann and Cullon Elizabeth Fry Beckmann. She married John Frederick Koepke on June 10, 1977, at First Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, and he survives.

A 1951 graduate of Gonzales High School, Mrs. Koepke received her bachelor’s degree in 1955 and her master’s degree in 1973 from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.

She taught physical education in Brownsville, Harlingen and Corpus Christi, and from 1974-1989, served as Physical Education Consultant in the Corpus Christi Independent School District.

Halton Autrey (Hal) Pilcher, 59, of Doss and Sherman, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Hilda United Methodist Church, with interment following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m., Saturday, at the church.

George W. Davis, 75, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 4-6 p.m. and continues on Monday, Oct. 6, from 7 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel.

The body will lie in state at Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel until 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 and from 1-2 p.m. at Memorial Presbyterian Church where the funeral will begin at 2 p.m.

Graveside services and interment will follow on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m., at the Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church, The Good Samaritan Center or to the charity of choice.

Gloria Joy Glazener


GLORIA JOY GLAZENER

Gloria Joy Glazener, 81, nee Hightower, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Jason Fry officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Sunday evening.

Mrs. Glazener was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Groesbeck, the daughter of Edward B. Hightower and Dena Faye Masters Hightower. She married James (Jim) Glazener on June 20, 1952, in Texas City, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Glazener is survived by two daughters, Shelley Weaver of Fredericksburg and Robbin Embury of Fort Defiance, Arizona, and one son, Scott Glazener of Canyon Lake.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward (Bubba) and Kathy Hightower of Santa Fe, Texas.
