FTC to perform 'The Fantasticks' this weekend
Tickets are on sale for the Fredericksburg Theater Company’s production of “The Fantasticks,” which runs Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 7-10.
The performances will be at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater at 1668 U.S. 87 South.
Harvey Schmidt, who composed the music and collaborated the musical with lyricist Tom Jones, will be the guest of honor at a special gala beginning on opening night tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 7, at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the remaining performances, slated for Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee, are $29 for adults and $12 for youth 18 and under.
The world’s longest-running musical, “The Fantasticks” is a comedic love story about a boy, a girl, two fathers and a wall. Featuring the narrator, El Gallo, the boy and girl fall in love, grow apart and finally find each other again.
