Billies ranked 19th preseason by Texas Football

Projections for Fredericksburg, Harper and Heritage high school football teams were released recently in the 2014 issue of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

Fredericksburg, which finished 10-2, is ranked in the top 20 of 4A schools and is projected to finish second in District 14-4A.

Both Fredericksburg and Harper moved up one class number this year because of UIL creating a sixth class to give to six-man football to become the new Class 1A.

When UIL added the sixth classification, it pushed up enrollment-based classifications, placing Fredericksburg into Class 4A.

Harper is projected to make the District 4A-2A DI playoffs by claiming the fourth and final berth into the playoffs.

The Heritage Eagles are projected to win the TAPPS DIII-3 after its 9-5 season last year in which it advanced to the state finals. The Eagles also find themselves ranked fifth in the state of all six-man football divisions.
