Rockets '14 launching here Thursday-Sunday
A love for aerospace engineering shared by high school students around the state will be evident this week with just a glimpse skyward over Gillespie County.
“Rockets 2014” will feature eight-foot-tall student-designed and student-built test vehicles being launched every half hour for four full days tomorrow through Sunday, May 15-18, at the Hillview Ranch near Willow City.
The public is invited to visit the ranch to watch the launches — all free of charge.
Student teams from some 50 different Texas high school aeroscience programs will launch their first-year and second-year project vehicles on their maiden voyages.
The yearly event is made possible by the SystemsGo initiative, which started at Fredericksburg High School.
For the first time in its history, SystemsGo plans to live stream video coverage of as much of the event as possible. Links and details, including directions, a launch schedule and more, are posted online at: www.systemsgo.org.
