Turnout only tops 620 for council, amendment votes
Voters will take to the polls Saturday for both the City of Fredericksburg and Doss Common Consolidated School District general elections as early voting ended on Tuesday evening.
City Election Day voting will be held at Fredericksburg Middle School from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., while Doss CCSD Election Day voting will be held at the Doss School Cafeteria from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
No election will be held this year for the Fredericksburg Independent School District board of trustees as only incumbents Lorrie Hess and Kay Stech as well as newcomer Kerinne Herber filed for the three open board seats.
A steady stream of residents cast their ballots in the City of Fredericksburg election since early voting began April 28.
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, 624 residents cast their ballots at City Hall with 120 voters on Tuesday and 120 voters on Monday.
Last week, voting totals per day were 65 on April 28, 75 on April 29, 28 on April 30, 105 on May 1 and 108 on May 2.
In the Doss CCSD election, a total of 42 residents early voted as of 3 p.m., Tuesday.
