Lillian Braeutigam Wissemann
Lillian Braeutigam Wissemann, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, April 26, 2014.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danielle Knapp officiating.
Interment followed in Der Stadt Friedhof.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Monday evening, April 28, and Tuesday morning, April 29.
Mrs. Wissemann was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Fritz Braeutigam and Augusta Meier Braeutigam. She married William Stanley Wissemann on May 19, 1946, at Bethany Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 2008.
A graduate of Fredericksburg High School and Draughn’s Business College, Mrs. Wissemann worked at Fredericksburg National Bank until becoming a full-time homemaker.
She was a member of the Melinda Woerner Circle at the Methodist church, was a contributor to the PTA cookbooks and many other activities.
Mrs. Wissemann is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, including Linda and Vernon Treibs and Beverly and Tom Carnes, all of Fredericksburg, and Gail and Cyril Weich, of Kerrville.
Survivors also include two grandchildren; a brother-in-law and spouse, Calvin and Olivia Wissemann, of Fredericksburg, and a sister-in-law and spouse, Betty and Marvin Johnson, of Onalaska.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wissemann was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Douglas Carpenter.
Memorials may be made to Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, Hill Country Memorial Home Health Care, PAWS or the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Victor Meier, Stanley Sauer, William Rode, Jonny Ohlenberg, Skip McCaffrey and Lester Meier.
