Fischer & Wieser soup named silver sofi finalist
Fischer & Wieser Chairman of the Board Mark Wieser (left) and CEO and President Case D. Fischer present their Mom’s Limited Edition Tomato Basil Soup, chosen as a Silver Finalist in the 2014 Specialty Food Association competition.
The Specialty Food Association announced last week that Mom’s Limited Edition Tomato Basil Soup, made by Fischer & Wieser Specialty Foods, Inc. is a Silver sofi Finalist in the Soup, Stew, Bean or Chili category.
As a finalist, it will contend for a sofi Gold trophy to be announced June 30 at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.
Fischer & Wieser CEO and President Case D. Fischer said the sofi Gold is a premier award that Fischer & Wieser aspires to win when developing products.
It is often equated to the Oscar in the gourmet food industry, according to Fischer.
“We are honored,” he said. “Every time we develop a new flavor profile that makes its way into our line, we are hopeful that it may one day win a sofi, and so this announcement is exciting news and a great achievement for our team.”
