Bethany Preschool students must have really wanted director Stephanie Sanchez to kiss a pig.

They had to raise $1,300 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to get Sanchez to pucker up for a porker. In total, they raised $1,863 — $563 more than needed.

Sanchez raised $20, for a total of $1,883.

The male pig, according to Patrick Padgett (who provided it) was a three-week-old crossbreed.

This was Sanchez’ first time kissing a pig, and when she was done, the pig had noticeable lipstick marks on his face.

“It was all for a good cause, so I didn’t mind,” Sanchez said. “Anything to help out St. Jude. I was just glad [the pig] was little. He was very cute and sweet, so it was all right.”

This is the fifth year that Bethany Preschool has raised money for St. Jude. Since 2009, it has raised more than $5,000.
