Sixteen FHS girls heading to regional track meet
Fredericksburg High School varsity girls will be competing at the University Interscholastic League Region IV Track and Field Meet on Friday and Saturday at Texas A&M Kingsville.
The athletes qualified for the regional meet after placing in the top four in their events at the District 27/28 Area Track Meet last Monday at La Vernia and Wednesday at Canyon Lake.
Fredericksburg girls qualified in the following events:
•Long jump — Chase Whiting and Shelbi Schneider.
•Pole vault — Lauren Smith and Katelyn Immel.
•Shot put — Kyra Wunderlich, Brooke Segner and Jessica Cadena.
•Discus — Cadena.
•100 hurdles — Whiting and Victoria Henke.
•100 meter dash — Lindcy Cisneros.
•4x200 meter relay — Hanna Castillo, Ashley Penick, Emily Myers, Cisneros, Madison Trousdale and Schneider.
•400 meter dash — Catherine Romanick.
•300 hurdles — Whiting.
•1600 meter run — Clarissa Sanchez.
•4x400 meter relay — Penick, Romanick, Myers, Whiting, Henke and Alyssa Hohn.
