Relay For Life to support survivors, help fight breast cancer
Gillespie County’s 2014 Relay For Life will run from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday-Saturday, April 25-26, at the Fredericksburg High School Stadium.
This fundraising event raises money in the battle against the various forms of cancer and also supports survivors and consoles those who have lost loved ones to cancer.
According to the Relay For Life website, as of April 21, 11 teams and 175 participants in the Fredericksburg event had already raised over $31,000.
The following activities are scheduled with specific times to be announced:
Registration for survivors and teams is from 3-4:30 p.m.
A reception honoring survivors runs from 5-6 p.m.
The opening ceremony is at 6 p.m., and it brings everyone together to celebrate the lives of those who have survived cancer, inspire hope and remind everyone that the battle of cancer is year-round.
