Max Strackbein, 86, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, April 12, 2014.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating. Pam Hartmann was the vocalist.
Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.
Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Strackbein was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Fredericksburg, the son of Mary Strackbein.
He served with the U.S. Air Force in Korea, and later operated his own service station and also Strackbein Radiator.
Strackbein is survived by his wife, Bobbie Klett Strackbein of Pleasanton; two sons, Clayton Strackbein of Austin and Perry Strackbein and his wife, Cris, of Fredericksburg; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Strackbein of Fredericksburg.
Survivors also include eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Geraldine Lang of Castell.
Strackbein was preceded in death by his first wife, Bama Faye Aplin Strackbein; a son, Leonard Strackbein, and a sister, Adela Lang.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund, the American Cancer Society or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Victor Lang, David Lang, Clinton Lang, Chris Grobe, Mark Danz and Dwayne Schaetter.
