Mrs. Clarence A. Durst
Mrs. Clarence A. Durst, 89, nee Lola Mae Beck of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Adams officiating.
Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Durst was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Blanco County, the daughter of Harry Beck and Lena Lindig Beck. She married Clarence A. Durst on June 15, 1940, in Brady. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1997.
For many years, the Dursts owned and operated an upholstery shop which they opened in 1942.
In 1977, they joined their daughter and son-in-law in operating the Fredericksburg Bakery where she worked for 30 years.
Mrs. Durst is survived by one daughter, two sons and spouses, including Clarence J. (Corky) Durst, Patsy and Mike Penick and Steve and Judy Durst, all of Fredericksburg.
Survivors also include six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Lydia, Mrs. Harry Beck, of Las Vegas, Nev.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Durst was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie Beck and Harry Beck.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Habitat for Humanity or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Shane Durst, Dac Penick, Derrek Penick, Todd Durst, Adam Sheffield and Cooper Sheffield.
