Track runs at Marble Falls
Competing in their final meet before district, Fredericksburg High School track athletes ran at the Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary Mustang Relays Friday with the varsity girls placing third and the varsity boys taking sixth.
Fredericksburg’s JV girls were second and JV boys were fifth in their respective divisions.
The Billies will be off this week as they train for the District 27-3A meet, slated for Wednesday and Thursday, April 9-10, at Canyon Lake High School.
The meet will begin April 9 with the 3200 meter run at 9 a.m. followed by the field events from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and running prelims from 5:30-8 p.m.
On Thursday, April 10, the running finals will be from 6-9:30 p.m.
“Our goal is to win all divisions at the district meet and extend our winning streak for the boys to nine years in a row and for the girls to five years in a row,” head coach Dan Aldrich said. “It will be tough, but I am confident we have the athletes in the right events to make that happen again this year. Official entries are due Friday, so over the next few days, the final evaluations will be done as the athletes prepare for next week.”
