Track finishes atop standings at Wicker Relays
Hosting their second meet of the year, Fredericksburg High School track won two divisions and finished second in two others at Saturday’s 48th annual Carlin Wicker Relays at FHS Stadium.
The varsity boys and JV girls won their divisions, while the varsity girls and JV boys finished second.
Fredericksburg will compete at the Marble Falls Daybreak Rotary Relays tomorrow, Thursday, with the 3200 meter run and field events at 4 p.m. and running finals at 6 p.m.
At home on Saturday at the 48th annual Carlin Wicker Relays, “we started the day with poor weather conditions as light rain caused a delay/changes in some of the field events,” head coach Dan Aldrich reported. “But, all events were able to be completed prior to the running finals in the afternoon.”
He added, “The teams attending provided quality competition to all.”
For Fredericksburg, Aldrich said, “I was very pleased with our performances to begin our first week of training in our second phase.”
“We have two weeks to district and the puzzle of what we need to do to finalize our entries is finally being solved,” Aldrich said.
