Harper girls finish third at home track meet

With the assistance of three first places — including two relay squads — Harper High School’s girls’ varsity track and field team managed to finish third in its own Longhorn Relays held Thursday at HHS.
The team of Sydney Collins, Taylor Reid, Megan Myers and Payton Reid took gold in the 4x200 meter relay in a time of 1:49.54. The foursome also came in first in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:13.16.
Taylor Reid also captured the top spot in the 300 meter hurdles in 48.79.
Likewise, the Ladyhorn JVs took third in their division, taking first in a pair of relays and one individual event. The team of Abby Skiff, Mackenzie Davis, Julia Mauldin and Lizzy Haines won the 4x100 meter relay in a time of 55.23, then took first in the 4x200 meter relay in 1:59.36.
The high jump winner was Cierra Wooten who cleared a height of 4’6”.
