Harper baseball shuts out Menard 10-0

By Danny Hirt

After splitting their last two games — a 7-4 setback to Mason on Friday and a 10-0 win over Menard last night — the Harper Longhorns’ varsity baseball team will continue through its district schedule by traveling to Ozona on Friday.

The junior varsity game will start at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity contest at 7 p.m.

Harper will then move on to Eldorado on Friday, April 4, for a 4:30 p.m. varsity contest. The JV squads will face off after the varsity game.

Harper 10, Menard 0

Guy Stevenson went 4-for-4, scored once and knocked in another run to help the ’Horns defeat Menard 10-0 Tuesday evening on the Harper field.

The game was ended after five frames due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Other multiple-hit players for HHS were Easton Hansen (2-for-4, three runs batted in and came home twice) and Lane Fajkus (2-for-3, scored two times).
