Track to host Carlin Wicker Relays

After a week off of competition for Spring Break, the Fredericksburg High School boys’ and girls’ track teams will host the 48th annual Carlin Wicker Fredericksburg Relays, Saturday, beginning with the 3200 meter run and field events at 9 a.m. at the FHS Stadium.

“We should have every athlete in our program participate in the home meet this weekend, which will be a good evaluation of all athletes in their events,” head coach Dan Aldrich said. “Although only three athletes per event can point or medal at the meet, we will have every kid in our program compete in their events so that they all have an opportunity to compete for future spots the next couple of weeks.”

Running finals at the meet will begin at 1:30 p.m.

“After our last meet at Lampasas on March 7, we ended our first phase strong and are hoping to continue our improvements as we begin our second phase of training this week,” Aldrich said. “We only have two meets remaining on our schedule before district, so time is running out for the kids to secure spots on the district entry list as they progress through our second phase of three weeks.”
