Fredericksburg High School varsity girls’ soccer’s hopes for both a playoff berth and to continue head coach John Brock’s coaching career came to an end on March 7, when they lost their final District 54-4A contest at home to Alamo Heights in a shutout, 4-0.
The junior varsity team also lost to Alamo Heights, 6-0, to close out their season.
Brock is coaching his final year at Fredericksburg and plans to retire.
The varsity team’s final game of the season will be on Tuesday, March 18, on the road at Medina Valley. That game begins at 5 p.m.
In their final district contest, the Billies fell to Alamo Heights 4-0 Friday.
An FHS win would have forced a playoff play-in game against Kerrville Tivy.
Fredericksburg is 9-12-1 on the season and 0-7-1 in district.
Of the five teams in district, only four advance to the playoffs. Those four will be Alamo Heights, Boerne Champion, Boerne and Tivy.
