By Lisa Treiber-Walter —
A back-and-forth battle ended with Fredericksburg High School’s varsity boys’ soccer team one goal shy of Boerne’s effort for a 2-1 loss last night at home.
Next up, the squad heads to neighboring Tivy High School in Kerrville for a 7 p.m. bout in the Antler Stadium on Friday, Feb. 28.
Then, the Billies return to host Boerne Champion here Tuesday, at 7 p.m., in the squad’s final home appearance of the season.
In Fredericksburg’s first half of District 54-4A play, it lost to Tivy, 4-1, and to Boerne Champion 4-0.
Currently, Champion leads loops action at 11-6-2 (2-0-2 in district), while San Antonio’s Alamo Heights is in second with a count of 12-2-4 (2-0-3 in district.)
The Billies are in last place behind third-place Kerrville Tivy and Boerne. Last night’s loss put the FHS team’s win-loss-tie count at 5-9-2 on the season and 1-4-0 in district.
