CALVIN WILLFORD HOHMANN

Calvin Willford Hohmann, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Danielle Knapp officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist, and Jackie Kunz, the vocalist.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday evening and Friday morning at the funeral home.

Hohmann was born July 20, 1924, in Gillespie County, the son of Albert H. Hohmann and Adela Evers Hohmann.

His first wife, the former Carrie Lansford, died in 1989. He then married Margaret Klein on Nov. 13, 1993, in San Antonio, and she survives.

Hohmann was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from July 12, 1943, to Feb. 8, 1946. He was discharged as a staff sergeant.

In addition to his wife, Hohmann is survived by two step-daughters, one step-son and spouses, including Margaret Ann and Tom Hill of San Antonio, Mary Jane Nelson of Canada and Robert and Beth Meurer of California.

Survivors also include seven step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandsons.

He is also survived by two brothers, Walter Hohmann and his wife, Irene, of Fredericksburg, and Raymond Hohmann of Willow City.

Memorials may be made to Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Patrick Hohmann, Maurice Hohmann, Rudy Schaefer, A.C. Kast, Harvey Bartholomew and Kenneth Bartholomew.
