Billies to host Loth Track Relays this Saturday
Opening their regular season at home, the Fredericksburg High School track program will host the annual A.J. Loth Relays Saturday with field event relays beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the FHS Stadium.
Running relays will begin no earlier than noon and at least 30 minutes after the conclusion of field events, according to head track coach Dan Aldrich.
“Starting off with an all relay meet gives the athletes an opportunity to break the practice routine and compete against other schools in a relay format,” Aldrich said.
Schools are allowed to enter three athletes per field event and the combined best mark for each athlete will count toward their team total. The winning team in each event receives first place medals.
“We do not give other medals besides first place so that schools can focus on developing a team concept within each event and try to win a specific event if they choose,” Aldrich said.
