Though it might not have come in the fashion that Fredericksburg High School varsity boys’ basketball head coach Tim Kaman would have wanted, the Billies clinched a bi-district championship Tuesday night, defeating Pleasanton, 85-70, at San Antonio Lee High School.
Fredericksburg, who bested rival Boerne 58-47 Feb. 12, will face District 26-3A runner-up Giddings in the area playoffs after the Buffaloes defeated Columbus, 63-50.
FHS and Giddings will face off Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Austin ISD Berger Center gymnasium.

Leading by double digits for most of the evening, the Billies held off several Eagle scoring bursts to defeat Pleasanton, 85-70, Tuesday night, capturing the bi-district championship.
