Heritage boys best Rainbow Hills Tuesday
By Danny Hirt —
With only four district games left on the schedule, Heritage School’s boys’ basketball team is poised for another post-season appearance.
Combined with last night’s 65-40 win at San Antonio Rainbow Hills, the Eagles picked three wins during the past week.
Last Friday, Heritage defeated Castle Hills 49-46 in the Fredericksburg First Baptist Church gymnasium. Then, on Saturday, the Eagles slipped past San Marcos 52-51 in a game played in the Kroc Center in Kerrville.
On Thursday, Heritage travels to San Antonio for a 7:30 p.m. game with Gateway, then hits the road in the other direction for a 3:30 p.m. contest at San Angelo Cornerstone. From there, the Eagles will return home for their last two games. Monday they’ll face Seguin Lifegate in a make-up game in Kerrville’s Kroc Center, then the next night they will go up against Selma River City Believers in the season finale in the Fredericksburg First Baptist Church gymnasium.
Both games will start at 7:30 p.m.

Despite a slow start, the Eagles were able to turn things around before intermission by outscoring host San Antonio Rainbow Hills, 65-40, Tuesday evening.
“The Eagles never looked back after the explosion of these two players (Boone and Tucker),” said Heritage head coach Clarence Stewart. “The Eagles played without leading scorer Joe Meek who was under the weather. Great job by the team pulling together in his absence.”
