Gillespie County Jail construction

DIGGING drainage areas and retention ponds at the front of the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center, Sedalco construction workers have created quite a change in scenery out U.S. Highway 290 on the city’s eastern edge as they reshape the landscape on Industrial Loop and begin forming up the foundation for the $15 million, bond-approved Gillespie County Jail. Construction on the two-story structure, which will also house the law enforcement dispatch center, probation offices and an upstairs courtroom, is expected to last the better part of this year. — Standard-Radio Post/Lisa Treiber-Walter
