Harper girls outlast Medina 42-38
By Danny Hirt —
The Harper High School girls’ varsity basketball team thundered back from an early deficit to beat Medina on the road Tuesday by a 42-38 margin.
Last night’s win helped counteract the 52-48 home overtime loss the Ladyhorns suffered Friday at the hands of Nueces Canyon.
Harper (19-7, 4-2) will host Mason on Friday, then travel to Junction on Tuesday to face the Eagles. Both games will tip off at 6:30 p.m.
A junior varsity contest will start at 5 p.m. both evenings.
Harper 42, Medina 38
Harper was able to dig itself out of an early deep hole to come away with a narrow 42-38 victory at Medina Tuesday evening.
The Ladyhorns netted only two points in the opening quarter while Medina reeled off 14 points. The tables were turned in the second when Harper outscored the hosts by an 8-2 margin.
Trailing by six points going into the final period (28-22), the Ladyhorns poured in 20 points during the final eight minutes while limiting Medina to only 10 to secure the victory.
