“A success” is how officials are describing the 2014 Gillespie County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Auction held Thursday through Saturday at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.
“From beginning to end this year, the stock show felt like a great success,” said Blaine Hahn, president of the Gillespie County Youth Livestock Show Association. “The show ran very smoothly.”
“Since I have been old enough to show, I have always looked forward to the stock show weekend and now being the president of the board is a great honor,” Hahn said.
Hahn said, “The show ran so well with all the volunteers we had working and the outstanding judges that came in from all over the state and even outside the state.”
And, Hahn said, “we were treated with great weather.”
He added, “We had great community support at the Show Barn on Thursday and Friday.”
“Looking back at the weekend from a whole, it makes you proud to be from this community with every piece coming together working for the youth,” Hahn said. “We constantly are working toward making the Gillespie County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Auction the best county show in the state of Texas.”
The 2014 Gillespie County 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Auction Thursday through Saturday drew 304 Gillespie County 4-Hers, Fredericksburg and Harper FFA members and Fredericksburg Junior FFA members.
That number included 229 Gillespie County 4-Hers, 55 Fredericksburg FFA members and 20 Harper FFA members.
