Varsity girls split pair

After splitting a pair of games on the road, the Fredericksburg High School varsity girls’ basketball team will be playing their next two District 27-3A matchups at home in the FHS Gym.

Playing in Wimberley last night, the FHS varsity team defeated the Texans, 68-54.

On Friday night in Navarro, the Billies came up short, 63-51.

Fredericksburg will finish the first round of district play on Friday night when they host Bandera in the FHS Gym in a 7 p.m. game.

The second round of district begins on Tuesday, Jan. 21, when the Billies host Canyon Lake in a 7 p.m. game in the FHS Gym.

In other District 27-3A action on Tuesday night, Navarro won over Bandera, 57-31, and Boerne defeated Canyon Lake, 58-27.

On Friday night, Wimberley defeated Canyon Lake, 53-41, and Boerne won over Bandera, 50-45.

After four district games, the Billies are at 2-2 in the standings along with Wimberley.

So far, Boerne is undefeated in district at 4-0 followed by Navarro at 3-1. Rounding out the standings are Bandera at 1-3 and Canyon Lake at 0-4.
