Candlelight Tour will light way around Pioneer Museum Dec. 28
This Saturday, Dec. 28, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., the Pioneer Museum Complex and the Schandua House will host a Candlelight Tour.
The museum is located at 325 West Main Street, and the Schandua House is at 111 East Austin Street.
Tickets to the event are $10 apiece and can only be purchased at Pioneer Museum.
The tour allows participants the opportunity to see some of Fredericksburg’s historic structures decorated for the holiday season with handmade tree ornaments, window and hearth decorations.
The Schandua House was built in the 1880s and is one of few local restorations without electricity or modern plumbing. A docent who is a direct descendant of the Schandua family will tell stories about the home and answer any questions.
Among the other buildings on the museum grounds open on the tour are: the Arhelger Bathhouse, the Dambach-Besier House, the Fassel-Roeder House, the Kammlah House, the Walton-Smith Log Cabin, the Weber Sunday House and the White Oak Schoolhouse.
