Harper girls improve to 6-0 on season
Following the recent Thanksgiving break, the Harper High School Ladyhorn varsity basketball team picked up its sixth win in as many starts Tuesday night by downing Utopia on the road, 54-42.
Prior to the Thanksgiving break, the girls toppled host San Saba 48-43 on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
HHS continues its hoops season Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7 by hosting its own tournament (see separate story in this week’s Standard-Radio Post for schedules.)
From there, the Ladyhorns host Leakey on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6:15 p.m. The junior varsity teams will square off at 5 p.m.
Harper 54, Utopia 42
Sarah Whitten poured in 23 points to help the Ladyhorns remain unbeaten after their first six starts by downing Utopia 54-42 on the road Tuesday evening.
Whitten also led her team in the steals department with 10 thefts.
Tara Beyer supplied a team-high seven rebounds.
