Harper boys defeat Utopia 71-31

With their annual tournament looming on the horizon, the Harper Longhorns boys basketball team defeated Utopia on the road Tuesday night by a score of 71-31.
Jayden Baumann topped the scoring chart for Harper with 17 points, nine of which came from behind the arc. Brayden Hagendorf added another 16, with Gus Sagraves contributing 13 more.
Tournament play will begin Thursday morning when the Longhorns take on Comfort at 10:30 a.m. in the new gymnasium. From there, Harper will face Sonora at 7:30 p.m. on the same day, then tangle with Leakey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Harper 71, Utopia 31
The ’Horns took a 19-10 lead by the end of the opening period, then expanded that to 10 points (33-23) by halftime.
From there, Harper netted 19 in each of the final two quarters to seal the victory.
During the last 16 minutes of action, the Harper defense limited Utopia to only eight points.
