Lace up! Eisbahn returns to Marktplatz on Friday
Just as Old Man Winter sent the thermometer dipping this past week, “Eisbahn” will do its part to transform a piece of Marktplatz into a winter wonderland for holiday season ice skating.
Opening day for the ice skating rink will be the day after Thanksgiving, this Friday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m.
After that, the rink will welcome skilled and first-time skaters alike every day (except Christmas Day) through Jan. 4, 2014.
Hours will be 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturdays, 1-8 p.m. on Sundays and 4-8 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 4-10 p.m. on Fridays (before school is dismissed for the Christmas holidays.) Once classes are out for Christmas break, hours will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.
On Christmas Eve, the rink will have shortened hours from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The rink will be open as usual on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
A come-and-go pass will be $10 and will include the rental of ice skates. As a wristband pass, it is good for the whole day on a come-and-go basis.
