Gobble On! Turkey Trot to step off
A chance to work off Thanksgiving dinner indulgences will be offered this Saturday, Nov. 30, during the Third Annual Hill Country Turkey Trot.
Runners of all ages and skill levels are expected to join from all parts of the country for this family-friendly Thanksgiving Weekend event, which starts and finishes at the Fredericksburg Elementary School (FES) campus, 1608 North Adams Street.
A stretch and pre-warm up is sponsored and led by a fitness professional from the Hill Country Memorial Wellness Center at 8 a.m. near the race start. The 5K and 10K races start at 8:30 a.m., while the Fun Run will start at 10 a.m.
Routes will be through Fredericksburg neighborhoods on paved streets.
Online registration has ended, but same-day signup is possible at a cost of $25 per person and which includes a souvenir t-shirt.
Those who have already signed up for the race may pick up their packets in advance from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, at the Hill Country Memorial Wellness Center, 1006 South State Highway 16, and, on race day, Saturday, Nov. 30, from 7-8:30 a.m. at the FES campus.
