Boys fall to Marble Falls 69-61
Three Billies scored in double figures as the Fredericksburg High School varsity boys’ basketball team dropped its second straight contest to open the regular season, falling at home to Marble Falls, 69-61, Monday night.
Fredericksburg was to have played at Medina Valley Tuesday evening. Due to an early press time for the Thanksgiving holiday, results from the contest were not available prior to publication. Coverage of the Billies’ game against the Panthers will be included in next week’s edition of the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post.
After getting Friday off for Thanksgiving, the Billies will host Uvalde Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Clayton Braden scored 12 points, Kyle Reeh scored 11 and Austin Rodriguez scored 10 points in Monday’s loss to Marble Falls.
“Once again, the effort was there, but we just did not score enough points to win, mainly due to the 6’7” senior from Marble Falls,” FHS head coach Tim Kaman said. “He had double digit blocks tonight which keyed their win. When we penetrated and got to the basket, he was there to either alter the shot or block it.”
After trailing by double digits in the first quarter, the Billies rallied back to take a two-point lead at halftime and a four-point lead entering the final quarter.
