Wild Game Dinner promises exotic tastes
TOP PRIZES — This quartet of organizers shows off some of the many prizes that will be given away or awarded to top bidders at the 2013 Gillespie County Wild Game Dinner, set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds. From left are Chris Schoessow, Shawn Lehne, Jason Janecka and Lea Penick (of the show “American Hoggers”). Lehne and Janecka hold UT and Texas A&M .308-caliber hunting rifles, which are two of many to be awarded in auctions that evening. Penick holds a 14-carat, white gold Mesa Topaz (3.8-carat) and dia-mond pendant (1.4 carat), designed by Champe Jennings Jewelry. Axis, elk, alligator, and …prizes?!...are all on the menu for the Gillespie County Wild Game Dinner this Saturday, Nov. 23.
The Gillespie County Fair Grounds will open at 5:30 p.m. for a night of exotic tastes, hunters’ exhibits, prize giveaways, auctions and more.
Admission tickets cost $20 per person and may be purchased at Arrowhead Bank, Stroeher & Olfers and Lochte Feed and General Store in Fredericksburg, as well as at Allied Ag in Stonewall. Prize drawing tickets are also available for purchase at those locations.
Admission and prize tickets may also be purchased at the door on Saturday night.
This year, organizers have planned for additional seating areas, plus have gathered some 20 percent more prizes for the drawings so that the item giveaway list numbers well over 200 items.
Also featured Saturday night will be a silent auction featuring over 100 items, among them four guns.
