Daily Update for Tuesday, Nov. 19


  • Fredericksburg City Council on Monday night postponed taking action on a proposed parking ordinance and are expected to hold a public hearing on the issue in January. Additionally, they received presentations on the waste water treatment plant and Complete Streets project.
  • Becky’s Juicerie continues to host its weekly community-wide free educational lecture series titled “Transformation Tuesdays” tonight from 6-8 p.m.
  • Registration for current students is under way for the spring semester at Texas Tech University at Fredericksburg and Highland Lake. A variety of classes for readmit, transfer, high school and non-degree-seeking students are being offered. Open registration starts Nov. 26. Students should contact the TTU academic advisor at 830-990-2717 for more information.
  • "Word for Beginners" will be offered starting today and continuing through Thursday by the Fredericksburg Independent School District's Community Education. The class will take place from 2-4 p.m. at Fredericksburg Elementary School.


  • Want to go to the Fredericksburg High School varsity football playoff game on Friday night in Cedar Park but don't want to drive? For the game, individuals can reserve a seat on a bus that is heading to the game. The cost for a seat is $25. To reserve a seat, email tiffbeard@gmail.com or ahartmann6@austin.rr.com.
  • Fredericksburg High School boys' basketball teams will be hosting Ingram tonight in the FHS Gym to open their season. The freshmen play at 5 p.m., the JV at 6:15 p.m. and the varsity at 7:30 p.m.
  • FHS varsity and JV girls' basketball teams were in Ingram on Monday night. The FHS varsity came out on top, 59-27, and the JV defeated Ingram, 29-22.
  • Playing in the Cedar Creek Invitational at Wolfdancer Golf Club on Monday, the FHS varsity boys finished third.
  • Harper boys' basketball is playing at Leakey tonight to open their season. The JV plays at 4 p.m. and the varsity at 5:15 p.m.
  • Harper girls' basketball teams will be on the road to Llano tonight. The JV plays at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 6:15 p.m.
