Today is election day. Nine proposed constitutional amendments, plus a local expanded beer and wine sales county proposition, are on the ballot. The Harper High School Band competed at the State University Interscholastic League Marching Contest on Monday at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The top seven bands in the preliminaries advanced to the finals, and Harper finished eighth in the prelims.
Fredericksburg City Council on Monday night heard a presentation on "The State of the City of Fredericksburg's Water Supply." They will also begin architectural work to expand the Visitor Information Center.
Fredericksburg Independent School District's Community Education will offer "A Beginner's Guide to the Culinary Arts" class tonight and again on Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Fredericksburg High School.
Becky’s Juicerie will host a free, six-week educational lecture series titled, “Transformation Tuesdays,” starting tonight from 6-8 p.m. The lectures will focus on the “Complete Transformation Plan” detox program, created by whole food marketers Juice Plus.
Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball will play in the bi-district round of the Class 3A playoffs tonight when they face Somerset at 7:30 p.m. at the Blossom Center in the Northeast ISD in San Antonio.
Basketball season for the FHS girls opened on Monday night when the Billies hosted Llano in the FHS Gym. (The game was originally set for tonight but was rescheduled for Monday because of the volleyball play-off game.) All three FHS teams won with the varsity defeating Llano, 63-41; the JV winning 36-11, and the freshmen coming out on top, 37-35.
The FHS varsity girls' golf team finished third in the Smithson Valley Invitational at River Crossing Club on Monday.
