Billies clinch District 27-3A title Friday

With a 36-21 road victory at Wimberley Friday night, the Fredericksburg High School varsity football clinched the District 27-3A championship — their first district title since 1998. FHS will host Bandera in their regular season finale next week.

After defeating Port Isabel 19-0 and Wharton 10-2, the FHS varsity tennis team advanced to the state team tennis tournament next weekend. The Billies will play tomorrow morning in the regional finals, though both regional finalists will advance to state competition.

The Fredericksburg High School varsity volleyball team fell to Navarro in four sets Friday night in a tiebreaker game at Smithson Valley High School. The Billies will compete Tuesday night against Somerset in the Blossom Center in San Antonio at 7:30 p.m.
